January 5

I didn’t have to do much in the days between Christmas and when my dad arrived for a visit on December 30th, but they filled up somehow.  Annika, another ESI teacher at my school, has had problems with her legs for a few weeks (not quite sure what it is – could be circulation problems or a chemical imbalance.  So please pray for her).  She went to the doctor on the 27th and I picked up her parents at the airport.  The next few days, I had lunch with a few people, went to a museum or so, and suddenly it was time for dad to come.

While he was here, I showed him around Budapest, and we went to Vienna for a couple of days.  We didn’t do a whole lot for New Year’s Eve; we had walked around all that day and were too tired to go back downtown to celebrate.  So it was a quiet time for reflection – which is probably better, anyway.

School has begun again, and it has been going well so far.  The classes that were fun before are still fun, and the classes that were a pain before are still a pain.  There’s nothing new under the sun, I guess.  Pray that I will be faithful in all that I do, whether it be planning lessons, grading papers, spending time with students and other teachers, or spending time alone.

Also, decision time for next year is only a couple of months away, and some ESIers have already begun talking about it.  I’ve been praying about this and about a lot of other things for quite some time, but I have not told anyone anything definite yet.  We will see what happens.  I will go where God wants me, wherever that may be.  Pray that God will show me the way.
